SORE FEET - METATARSALGIA - PLANTAR FASCIITIS - CALCANEAL SPUR

SORE FEET - METATARSALGIA
PLANTAR FASCIITIS - CALCANEAL SPUR

Amongst athletic chronic soreness, sore feet due to repetitive pounding or due to extreme running may cause pain in the bottom of the heels (Plantar Fasciitis) and balls of the feet but also to the flat portion right in the back of the toes (Metatarsalgia).

It is believed that heel pain affects more than fifty percent of Americans, and the most common cause is plantar fasciitis.

Calcaneal spur is a calcium growth on the heel bone.

These conditions cause inflammation and pain which MSM's over thirty years of clinical experience has proven to relieve amazingly well.

In my experience, 6,000 to 8,000 mg of MSM taken orally reduces inflammation and pain in a short time and increases energy considerably. If the pain is severe one may need to increase the dosage until feeling comfortable.

The MSM therapeutic massaging gel applied several times a day to the sore area helps relieve both the inflammation and the pain. Dr. Jacob highly recommended using both MSM oral and topical.

Notice: Every time you use the MSM therapeutic topical gel, make sure your hands and the massaged area are clean because the MSM penetrates the skin, and one does not want to infect the skin with dirt. Also make sure that you rub the MSM gel in until your hands and the massaged area are completely dry to avoid the MSM crystals staying on top of your skin when the gel’s water evaporates. The demineralized water-based gel contains 15% MSM, which is the maximum to avoid crystallization. So, to prevent the MSM from crystallizing in the MSM gel bottle, do not forget to close the MSM gel bottle lid after use.

Here is what happened to me when I was eighty. I have severe degenerative arthritis that I inherited from my mother and osteoarthritis from sixty-five years of skiing, running, playing racket sports, and construction injuries. I have been using MSM for over twenty-five years and I started using MSM before the arthritis and these plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia started affecting my life (see NECK INJURY).

Even with the MSM, I always have tolerable pain in my neck, fingers, and toes, in my heels, and the flat portion of my feet right back of the toes. But it is bearable, and I do not need medication with all the side effects that come with it. However, I cannot walk barefoot on a hard surface without some cushioning under my feet. Just standing barefoot in the shower is extremely excruciating.

Due to a mishap, I took too much MSM one day and ended up with diarrhea. I stopped taking MSM for a couple of days to make sure the diarrhea would go away before starting back on my normal dose.

This is when I realized that it would be better to take one’s MSM daily dose in one’s daily fluid intake prepared for all day use instead of in three daily portions, as I was used to, so this kind of mishap does not happen again.

I work a lot on the computer every day and I am mostly always standing at a stand-up desk. I suddenly started feeling a lot of pain under my heel and right in the flat portion of my feet just on the back of my toes. I was under the impression that it may be because I was standing too much and decided to sit more on a high stool during the day. It did not help, and I ended up having trouble walking because my feet were hurting too much.

I searched for some internet medical websites to see if there was any explanation for localized pain in these areas of the feet.

To my surprise, there were many websites talking about Plantar Fasciitis and Metatalsalgia, mostly caused by arthritis and injuries due to repetitive pounding exactly where my pain was. I got back on my MSM normal dosage of 15 - 20 gr daily and the pain disappeared immediately. This is the same condition that American actor James Coburn dealt with for many years before he discovered MSM. I must have had this condition for a long time but never felt it due to my use of MSM for over twenty-five years.

At eighty-two, I went to visit one daughter in south of France, some twenty hours trip with the change of planes. I forgot to take my MSM during the whole trip. On my arrival, I was barely able to walk as my feet were hurting. On the way back, I did not forget to take my MSM with my meals and snacks, and change of plane, to feel perfectly well when I got home.

The book "The Miracle of MSM" reports the following testimonials and others:

1.   See actor James Coburn’s case in the ARTHRITIS section of this website.

2.  A twenty-nine-year-old Portland, Oregon attorney, a marathon and triathlon runner with this condition takes 8,000 mg a day of MSM orally and soaks his feet two to three times a week in a hot foot bath with 60,000 mg or 60 gr of MSM crystals for fifteen to twenty minutes.
