SINUSITIS (SINUS INFECTION), SLEEP APNEA, AND OTHER NASAL CONDITIONS

SINUSITIS (SINUS INFECTION)
SLEEP APNEA, AND OTHER NASAL CONDITIONS

The U.S. National Center on Health Statistics reports that sinus and allergy problems are the number one chronic health complaint of over sixty million sufferers in the USA.

We see more information in ALLERGIES.

SINUSITIS

Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses.

Because of the anti-inflammatory properties of MSM, MSM massaging gel gives good results.

Dr. Stanley W. Jacob of the Oregon Health and Sciences Medical School recommends dissolving a little less than one teaspoon of pure MSM mixed to one ounce of warm water and spray inside both nostrils several times a day.

I found out that a generous application of the MSM therapeutic massaging gel inside both nostrils with the tip of one small finger, twice a day, relieves my sinus problems.

Immediately after applying the MSM therapeutic massaging gel inside the nostrils, I squeeze both nostrils with one index and thumb, inhale while removing and squeezing again only one of the fingers at the time to let a little air go in and repeat a few times with each finger. It helps spread the MSM therapeutic massaging gel to all the inside of the nostrils and allows the gel to go all the way towards the sinuses.

Done just before bedtime, it alleviates my sleep apnea, but not enough to be completely comfortable.

The above procedure helps reduce the symptoms of snoring. There is even a patent on using a solution of water and MSM to treat snoring. I was told the gel is easier to use and gives good results.

I and many people end up with nose bleeding especially in dry climates. The above procedure does the trick to stop it.

I know a Las Vegas 95-year-old retired registered nurse who had been dealing with this predicament for years without ever finding a way to help. The MSM gel solved her problem in two days.

SLEEP APNEA (my startling experience)

Have you ever experienced a sudden substantial increase in blood pressure readings? I want to report here my own experience with this situation. This has nothing to do with MSM except that in my case, my knowledge of MSM helped me cope with the situation without panicking.

I have suffered from severe sleep apnea all my life. I stop breeding on average 55 times per hour.

In 2014, I moved from a southern California beach city to one of the driest climates, in Las Vegas. Before this move, for all my life, even if I have suffered from acute sleep apnea, my blood pressure was usually on the low. After my move, my blood pressure increased to 160-165 over 90-95 and even higher.

In the eleven years since my move, I ended up changing my personal care provider four times because the first one retired, and the two next ones moved to other areas. I am eighty-six years of age, and I do not take any medication(drug) because I have not heard of any drug that does not have side effects and most importantly, some side effects that many times require you to take another drug to fight the side effects of the first drug and it never ends.

I searched the internet to see if I could find the reason for my sudden elevated rise in blood pressure. I did not find any answer except that at my age, there are many opinions on the acceptable blood pressure level and that I should not worry too much because many studies have demonstrated that at my age, I am in an acceptable range.

So, every time I met with my personal care provider, except for the first one who did not believe there was any reason to worry, they always said that my blood pressure was quite elevated. I would always tell them my reasoning that I could not see the reason for me to take any medication to correct the situation as I had never experienced high blood pressure for 75 years and my symptoms started only when I moved to Las Vegas. My reasoning was that there was something in the climate that had triggered this change.

My fourth personal care provider was adamant that I needed to take blood pressure medication because there had been a study of 5,500 people that showed that my risk of a heart attack was extremely high. Plus, he was worried since my father had died from a heart attack.

What I know about my father’s and my own condition is that my father was not obese, but he was a little overweight, never exercised, and had suffered from high blood pressure all his life. My weight is just above normal; I have always exercised for one to two hours a day, and my blood pressure increased only after a change in climate.

Eight years after my move, I finally found one reason for my sudden high blood pressure. It is well reported in the medical field that it could be because of my sleep apnea. In the dryer climate, I do not get as much oxygen at night as in a more humid one and it makes the heart work harder and increases my blood pressure readings.

After finding the above, I purchased a humidifier for my bedroom and another one for the other rooms of my home, and a distilled water making machine. I do not have to carry two to three gallons of water a day with the water I use for the humidifier and to make my MSM daily beverage.

I honestly believe that my high intake of MSM has helped me to compensate a little by providing more oxygen during the day due to MSM's property to increases blood flow.

Notice: Every time you use the MSM therapeutic topical gel, make sure your hands and the massaged area are clean because the MSM penetrates the skin, and one does not want to infect the skin with dirt. Also make sure that you rub the MSM gel in until your hands and the massaged area are completely dry to avoid the MSM crystals staying on top of your skin when the gel’s water evaporates. The demineralized water-based gel contains 15% MSM, which is the maximum to avoid crystallization. So, to prevent the MSM from crystallizing in the MSM gel bottle, do not forget to close the MSM gel bottle lid after use.
