CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
Numbness or tingling in the fingers often results from repetitive small movements over a period or an injury to the hand or wrist. The condition is caused by a compressed nerve in the carpal tunnel, a narrow passageway on the palm side of your wrist. Because there may be inflammation in the narrow wrist passageway, MSM should help remove it. If your condition is caused using a computer mouse, make sure your mouse is at elbow height or close to, for better comfort and reduced strain.
I found that setting my computer high on what is called a stand-up desk, so I can work standing as well as sitting on a high stool is a effective way to avoid trouble. It allows one to move more and the change in position helps avoid the damage. I have set my keyboard and mouse at two different heights so I can use both at the same height or at different height, again to change the position during the day. All this because I am 86 and still work on computer research 4 to 8 hours a day.
The pain may also arise from tight muscles in the axilla area (the front portion of the shoulder). Deeply Massage the wrist, the hand, the arm, and the shoulder with the 15% MSM therapeutic massaging gel and you will soon feel less pain. While rubbing the MSM gel pay attention to the more sensitive areas and apply more pressure while you rub the gel in these areas.
Take 2,000 to 6,000 mg daily of MSM sulfur nutritional supplement in the form of crystals or capsules to help give more flexibility to the muscles and keep inflammation at bay. Start with the smaller dose and increase gradually until you reach a dose you feel comfortable with. Depending on the severity of your situation, you may have to reach a higher dose and reduce the dose after a few months.
Search online to find corrective exercises that will keep your full arms and hands muscles flexible.
Therapeutic massages may help at the beginning if you cannot alleviate the pain with the MSM sulfur nutritional supplement only.
However, Dr. Jacob recommends applying a MSM topical gel or lotion to the hand, wrist and arm affected.
Notice: Every time you use the MSM therapeutic topical gel, make sure your hands and the massaged area are clean because the MSM penetrates the skin, and one does not want to infect the skin with dirt. Also make sure that you rub the MSM gel in until your hands and the massaged area are completely dry to avoid the MSM crystals staying on top of your skin when the gel’s water evaporates. The demineralized water-based gel contains 15% MSM, which is the maximum to avoid crystallization. So, to prevent the MSM from crystallizing in the MSM gel bottle, do not forget to close the MSM gel bottle lid after use.
